And was it deep, the hole?

Or did you break a leg jumping into a hole that really wasn't as deep as you thought?

The metaphorical hole is only as deep as you make it.

And it's the journey out that's more important, whether you choose to or not.

Which also prompts the question - what defines this metaphorical hole?

How do you know that it actually is a hole? And knowing that it is actually a hole, why jump?

Try throwing a rock into the hole. If you can hear it hit the bottom then perhaps the hole isn't so deep. If you can't hear it, then assume the hole is too deep and don't jump. If you have already jumped...well I hope you took your parachute with you =.=
