It's all about the story about the flying woman (Seung Ngo: 嫦娥), heroic man (Hau Ngai: 后羿), 10 suns and rabbits. The version I like goes like this...
Ten suns circled the earth once every 10 days. One day they all decided to shine at the same time, scorching the Earth. The Emperor tells heroic Hau Ngai to rescue the Earth and he kills 9 of the 10 suns. To reward him, the Emperor gives Hau Ngai an immortality pill. He hides the pill while he rests and recovers from battle. Seung Ngo, his wife discovers the pill and swallows it. She immediately begins to fly and heads towards the moon. Hau Ngai fights to keep her on Earth, but she continues to sail towards the moon. When she arrives, she coughs and part of the pill falls onto the surface where rabbits live. She then commands the rabbits to make a pill from the part that fell out of her mouth so that she may fly back down to Earth and see Hau Ngai. Legend has it that the rabbits are still trying to make the pill to this very day.
