Apple is coming to Sydney. The company's 215th store is their first store in Australia and the southern hemisphere. Another two stores are currently being built in Chatswood and Chadstone (Melbourne).Located on the intersection of King and George Street, Apple is an integral part of the near two-year refurbishment of the former Westpac bank branch. Apple Sydney will be spread over three floors, one of only three stores to do so. It will be one of the largest flagship stores in the world. Not to be defeated by its international counterparts, the architecture at the Sydney store is promised to 'wow'.
Nearly 125 employees will service customers, supporting the world's largest Genius Bar and the new Pro Lab service. The Genius Bar is where people can get face-to-face technical support while Pro Lab is training for professionals- currently offered only in New York and Boston.
The official opening is next Thursday. The first 2,500 people will receive a free Apple t-shirt.
