We all knew it, but now the numbers show it. Australian ski resorts charge the highest one-day lift pass prices in the world, with Japan charging the least. Hakuba (白馬) in Nagano prefecture is the cheapest of the resorts surveyed.The following lists the prices of one-day lift passes in Australian dollars:

there are places in hokkaido that charge even less i hear (my reliable source being nancy) - also better snow & less crowds
mich's sis also mentioned that out of the all the places she's been - including NZ & Switz, she preferred hokkaido best....

it is a shame that this time round there's no snow but rain instead...
i'd like to go back to hokkaido just to ski next time, though i'm not too avid. hmm.
