starbucks closes across sydney
Starbucks is closing 61 stores leaving only 23 open for business Australia-wide. These stores are located in high density areas around Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.The chain admits that from the beginning there had been insufficient patronage. As well, Starbucks failed to deliver to Australian using a 'fast food' system of queues and ordering. In particular, the Australian pallate did not warm to the use syrups over coffee beans.
Starbucks' Australian closures are said to be unrelated to the 600 US store closures earlier this month.
