something fishy

I went to the fish market early today to sample and purchase the select delicacies on offer that is seafood. This year the prices were definitely lower than last year on average. Specifically, items including oysters, prawns and whole salmon which were cheaper at about $14/dozen, $19/kg $14/kg respectively. The crab was more dearer this year at about $45/kg.

We used the savings to buy green lipped abalone at $4.90 each. After cleaning, they're half the size of what they originally were. Now I'm scouring chinese websites for recipes on how to cook them.

That's our bit to save the economy this Christmas! Splurge on cheap food- and speaking of cheap, petrol's now down to about 93c/L. Sounds like roadtripping time!
