holiday reflections
My trip to Perth over the last 8 days has truly made me appreciate just how vast and big this country is. Let's look at the idle time I spent over this period:
- Sydney to Perth = 4.5 hours (plane)
- Perth to Hilarys = 35 mins
- Perth to Swan River = 25 mins
- Perth to Wave Rock = 4.5 hours
- Perth to Augusta = 4 hours
- Perth to Cervantes = 3 hours
Wave Rock was sensational, but enduring 42°C heat in the area made exploring almost impossible. Way too hot... The Pinnacles were truly breathtaking and the lobsters in Cervantes were so fresh and sweet! Steamed in the morning right after they caught it. The Swan Valley albeit small had some fantastic wines and is located only on the outskirts of Perth within easy reach. The Margaret River region was vast, and travel between wineries was much greater than the Swan or Hunter. The caves and lighthouse in Augusta was also great. All in all, a fantastic trip before work commences on Monday...Photos are available on Facebook.
