january fun

It's a summer of tennis in Australia, as the world's best come down under to compete at the Australian Open. This year I was not fortunate enough to get (free) tickets to the Medibank International (Sydney), so I will have to satisfy myself with no on court tennis action. Medibank International starts tomorrow with Jovak Djokovic a wildcard entry.

All this is in preparation for the main event, that is the Australian Open from 19 January to 1 February.

As well, it's time for the Sydney Festival to begin. It starts tonight with 7 venues across the City offering live entertainment for the masses to party until the wee hours. The highlights of this year's festival include:
  • Movies in the Overflow (Homebush Bay) - free
  • Concerts in the Domain - free
  • Fine food for only $25 at selected restaurants
