お花見
It's that time of year again as well. Despite gloomy weather in many parts of Japan, people are picnicking beneath the sakura (桜) trees in hoardes in parks across the country to enjoy this annual excuse to celebrate, socialise and drink.
Why don't we do it too, maybe when our jacaranda is in season? How very Australian-Japanese. It's very similar to the sakura in many respects.
